Mini India has introduced the all-new Cooper S Convertible in the Indian market, priced at ₹58.50 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as one of the most accessible premium convertibles available in the country.
The Mini Cooper S Convertible is being offered as a completely built-up unit (CBU), with bookings now open across authorised dealerships and deliveries already underway.
Built on the performance-focused Cooper S hatchback, the Convertible shares the same powertrain and sporty driving character. It features an electrically operated soft-top fabric roof that opens in approximately 18 seconds and closes in about 15 seconds, and can be operated at speeds of up to 30km/h, enhancing its open-air driving experience.
Powering the Mini Cooper S Convertible is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that delivers around 201bhp and 300Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels. Mini claims a 0–100km/h sprint time of approximately 6.9 seconds.
On the design front, the Cooper S Convertible retains Mini’s signature styling cues, including circular LED headlamps, an octagonal grille and Union Jack-inspired tail-lamps. Premium elements such as 18-inch alloy wheels and subtle body cladding enhance its sporty appeal, while the fabric soft-top roof is neatly integrated into the design, preserving proportions similar to the Cooper S hatchback while adding the versatility of open-top driving.
Inside, the Mini Cooper S Convertible’s cabin combines contemporary technology with signature Mini design elements. Dominating the centre console is a circular 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen, complemented by features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, a wireless charging pad and a Harman Kardon sound system, ensuring a connected and immersive in-car experience.

Enhancing comfort, the Cooper S Convertible is equipped with powered front seats with a massage function and a head-up display. Safety and convenience are addressed with features like a rear-view camera and multiple airbags, while the minimalist, driver-focused layout and digital instrumentation underline the car’s modern yet characterful interior theme.
The Mini Cooper S Convertible offers a practical boot that remains competitive within its segment. Its neatly packaged fold-away soft-top roof ensures minimal intrusion into luggage space, providing a good balance between open-top motoring and everyday usability, with cargo capacity largely comparable to the hardtop version.
